Japanese tiger 日本の虎
This is part of the artists ‘small but beautiful’ Japanese collection. This piece pictures a vibrant prowling tiger against a golden glinting sun. Traditionally, the tiger is a symbol of strength, courage and longevity. It is also revered as a guardian that wards off evil spirits, bad luck, and disease.
This lino print has been printed on beautiful pages from a well known Japanese novel called ‘colourful’, by author Mori Eto, telling a story of a soul that is given a second chance at life.
This piece was carefully and lovingly crafted, requiring 3 layers of colour and three separate blocks of lino. The total piece measures approximately 10cm x 15xm and is part of a very limited edition collection of 36. There are only 28 orange tigers and 8 blue tigers available in this collection. Each will be numbered and stamped with the artists custom hanko chop, as a signature.
Please note that this print has been lovingly hand printed and is not a digital reproduction. Therefore due to the handcrafted nature, no two pieces will be the same, making them extra special.

These will be dispatched from 18th November, once fully dry.
