'We are selkies'
'We are selkies’ A4 print, limited edition.
Seals in water, humans on land. Those ancient tales in Celtic mythology, describing at full moon when the selkies rise from the water in foam and seaspray, taking off their seal skin to dance upon the rocks. Did you even know that if their seal skins become stolen they can never return back to the ocean. How many people out there are really selkies trapped on land in human form?
This whimsical, nostaligic print is a limited edition lino print with only 150 prints in the edition. Each one is numbered, titled and signed by the artist.
This A4 print features an original illustration by Rosie Lavis (@thewildprintstudio) which was hand carved onto lino. Each print is hand burnished onto lightweight, high quality Japanese hosho paper, in ‘lack’ oil based ink.
The whole piece is A4 sized (29.7 cmx 21cm) and the image size is approximately 24.7cm x 17cm
The listing is for an unframed lino print and the print will be posted to you double backed with card and safely packaged in a biodegradable cellophane slip, ready to frame or to give as a gift.
